The objective of this research project is provide poultry farmers with a cost effective and efficient method to compost their mortalities on farm with reduced odours levels emitted. A compost mixer has been developed to decrease the primary phase of composting time from approximately 3 months to 5 days. At the same time, the mixer eliminates the occurrences of scavengers and vermin in the compost and greatly reduces the odours normally associated with composting livestock on the farm.
